5 Rainbow Day

What crazy weather we're having!! It can't decide if it wants to rain or shine lol. I got caught in the rain twice today...and let me tell you it was a cooooooold rain today. It was all made better by being able to see 5 rainbows. My favourite one was on my walk tonight. I was walking up the monster hill on my walking route. I was holding my hood so the wind wouldn't blow it off my head when the sun breaks out from a cloud and shines right on me. I turn around and there is the most stunning rainbow I've ever seen! The sun glistening off the leaves on the trees: all the reds, oranges, yellows, and greens...it was beautiful. The water glistening on the road, and the raindrops shining as they fall by the millions from the sky. The clouds behind the rainbow were jet black, but they looked so beautiful because they were emphasizing the colours of the rainbow. While I was standing there admiring the wonders of nature a second rainbow appeared just above the bright one. And what comes on my MP3 player while I'm standing there?

Rainy Day People - Gordon Lightfoot

Rainy day people always seem to know when it's time to call

Rainy day people don't talk, they just listen till they've heard it all

Rainy day lovers don't lie when they tell ya they've been down like you

Rainy day people don't mind if you're cryin' a tear or two

If you get lonely, all you really need is that rainy day love

Rainy day people all know there's no sorrow they can't rise above

Rainy day lovers don't love any others, that would not be kind

Rainy day people all know how it hangs on a piece of mind

Rainy day lovers don't lie when they tell you, they've been down there too

Rainy day people don't mind if you're cryin' a tear or two.

Rainy day people always seem to know when you're feeling blue

High stepping strutters who land in the gutters sometimes need one too

Take it or leave it, or try to believe it

If you've been down too long

Rainy day lovers don't hide love inside they just pass it on

Rainy day lovers don't hide love inside they just pass it on

Nova Scotia Bound....

The first step in the honeymoon has been implemented! I emailed a fantastic looking Bed and Breakfast on the Cabot Trail. It's right on the ocean, you can see Puffin Islands from the Manor, it's within driving range of almost everything on Cape Breton Island, and did I mention it's beautiful?? I received an email back from Lonnie, the owner/operator, and she asked if she could call me. What a delightful lady! She was so much fun to talk to and answered all the questions I had. Well, wouldn't you know it, Matt and I are tentatively booked for arrival on August 7, 2007 for 3 nights at Sea Parrot Ocean View Manor
www.seaparrotoceanviewmanor.com
The length of stay may change, we may decide to spend our whole honeymoon there, but for now we're booked for 3 nights. The room she has us booked is the Garden Suite. It's $145 a night, which I know isn't cheap....but here's what it includes:

QUEEN BED & PULL-OUT (SLEEPS 4)
PRIVATE WHIRLPOOL BATH/SHOWER
PRIVATE ENTRANCE
DECK
REFRIGERATOR
MICROWAVE
COFFEE MAKER
LIVING AREA
DINING AREA
TV/VCR/DVD
ALL SUITES HAVE ACCESS TO OUTSIDE HOT TUB

Here are some pictures, I hope they work.

Isn't it great?!?!?! Lonnie said that you can lay in bed in the morning and look out over the ocean hehehe....I've never SEEN the ocean!!!!!! I'm only a little excited lol.

Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes
by Paul Simon
a-wa) O kodwa u zo-nge li-sa namhlange
(a-wa a-wa) Si-bona kwenze ka kanjani
(a-wa a-wa) Amanto mbazane ayeza
She's a rich girl
She don't try to hide it
Diamonds on the soles of her shoes

He's a poor boy
Empty as a pocket
Empty as a pocket with nothing to lose
Sing Ta na naTa na na na
She got diamonds on the soles of her shoes
Sing ta na naTa na na na
She got diamonds on the soles of her shoes
Diamonds on the soles of her shoes
Diamonds on the soles of her shoes
Diamonds on the soles of her shoes
Diamonds on the soles of her shoes

People say she's crazy
She got diamonds on the soles of her shoes
Well that's one way to lose these walking blues
Diamonds on the soles of her shoes
She was physically forgotten
but then she slipped into my pocket
With my car keys
She said you've taken me for granted
Because I please you
Wearing these diamonds

And I could say Oo oo oo
As if everybody knows
What I'm talking about
As if everybody here would know
Exactly what I was talking about
Talking about diamonds on the soles of her shoes
She makes the sign of a teaspoon
He makes the sign of a wave
The poor boy changes clothes
And puts on after-shave
To compensate for his ordinary shoes

And she said honey take me dancing
But they ended up by sleeping
In a doorway
By the bodegas and the lights onUpper Broadway
Wearing diamonds on the soles of their shoes
And I could say Oo oo oo
As if everybody here would know
What I was talking about
I mean everybody here would know exactly
What I was talking about
Talking about diamonds

People say I'm crazy
I got diamonds on the soles of my shoes yeah
Well that's one way to lose These walking blues
Diamonds on the soles of my shoes

Ever Have Those Weeks....

Where you know it's going to be a short week but it still feels like a regular week all the same? That was my week this week. I started back on my split shift this week, and I was all excited about it because I find that shift very relaxing and a lot less stressful than doing a full 9:30 - 5:30 with my school age kids. Well, let me tell you, I am so freakin' exhausted this week I'm lucky if I can stay awake until 9:30 at night! lol All summer I was spoiled and got to sleep in until 8:00 most mornings, but now I'm back to waking up at 6:00, and on the mornings I have to take the bus I have to get up at 5:00. I know...whine whine whine, woe is me, but seriously, that's a big adjustment to make! lol....I'm so thankful it's finally Friday so I can get properly rested for next week.

What else happened this week? Oh yeah, I went and got my bloodwork done for the living donor liver transplant stuff. Now I just have to wait for the Toronto Hospital to contact me with what I have to do next. You should see the bruise on my arm though! Holy cow!! I know it's hard to find my veins, they like to hide, but holy. I've never had someone bruise me that much. She had to use a surface vein, which happens to me a lot, but for some reason it really bruised this time. Matt cringes when he looks at it lol. I keep telling him it looks a lot worse than it is!

My mom's cousin Blair died suddenly over the weekend. He was actually a cousin by marriage, but family just the same. He was a nice guy, he had 2 boys, and his wife of course. I'm not sure if they found out why he died, but it was definitely very sudden. You'll be missed Blair, take care on the other side.

Well, it's time for me to head off to work again. It was payday yesterday so I think Matt and I have plans to do groceries on my break this afternoon, and any other running around. Enjoy your Friday!

Quote of the Day....

When you are a bear of very little brain, and you think of things, you sometimes find that a thing which seemed very thingish inside you is quite different when it gets out into the open and has other people looking at it! ~Winnie-the-Pooh

Oh my god I'm tired.....

ZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Wow....that was unexpected....

The last month I've been helping my friends Jim and Nancy out around their house. Melanie and I helped fix their shower, we primed Max's room to get it ready for painting, we cleaned their house from top to bottom, and last night, because Nancy was having her baby, I picked up Max at daycare and babysat him until grandma could get home from the hospital. I got to the house and Jim was there for dinner. He handed me a card. I opened it and it was a thank you card from Jim and Nancy, with a $50 gift certificate for a spa! I was shocked to say the least! I definitely wasn't expecting anything...but it was definitely a very nice surprise. Now the tough decision comes....how to spend it!? Should I do the french manicure, the pedicure, a massage? Hydrotherapy??....so many choices......what to do?! I've never had a pedicure before, and my poor tootsies would probably love it.....but I've also always wanted a French Manicure lol. I think it will come down to the toss of a coin. Any advice?!
